Gold Travertine (also known as Yellow Travertine or Yellow Travertine) is a fine and elegant natural porous limestone marble/stone mined primarily in the mining basins of Iran and Turkey, as well as in historic Italian quarries. It is widely appreciated in classical and contemporary architecture for its warm hues and the characteristic vacuolar texture that makes it unique.
Visually, it is distinguished by a solar background in shades of golden yellow, honey and ochre, crossed by parallel streaks or nuanced clouds in shades of cream, hazelnut and rust. Depending on the cutting direction of the block — pitched (vein cut, with linear veins) or counterfidious (cross cut, with clouded motif) – it offers different aesthetic rendering and personality.
Geologically, it is a calcareous sedimentary rock with a carbonate matrix, characterized by typical natural pores and cavities (vacuoles) due to the hydrothermal formation process. It can be supplied with open pores (plaste in place) or pre-plaste with transparent resins, cement or colored mastics. Being a carbonate stone, it is sensitive to food acids (such as lemon, vinegar and wine) and requires specific hydro-oil-repellent protective treatments when intended for intensive use environments.
– interior flooring and paneling: ideal for dramatic walls, interior floors, lobbies, and salon and bathroom paneling with a natural, textured charm.
– bathroom and wellness rooms: widely used for shower liners, hollowed-out sinks and vanity tops (with suitable grouting and surface protection).
– exterior architecture: used for facade cladding, poolside and exterior flooring (particularly in the open-pore or brushed finish for non-slip properties).
– custom elements: perfect for chimney frames, stairways, thresholds, windowsills and portals.
