Summer Light is a bright, warm, and elegant natural granite/pegmatite mined in the famous mining basins of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is highly sought after in fine interior and exterior architecture due to the unique combination of the typical resistance of silicates and the chromatic brightness of its quartz components.
Visually, it has a medium-coarse grain texture characterized by a cream, straw yellow, ivory and pale amber background, dotted and enriched with translucent quartz crystals, golden feldspars and biotite or garnet micro-inclusions in shades of hazelnut, rust and pearl grey. The distribution of its minerals gives surfaces a warm, vibrant and sunny appearance.
Technical characteristics of the Summer Light
Geologically it is an intrusive magmatic rock (granite/silicate). Unlike carbonate matrix stones, it is a highly resistant silica-based material and is NOT sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, or common detergents). It offers exceptional properties of resistance to compression, mechanical abrasion, scratches and thermal overhang. Liquid absorption is reduced, and lends itself optimally to any surface finish: polished, sanded, brushed, flamed or outdoor bush-hammered.
Applications in design
