Golden Stone - yellow sandstone of natural origin

Technical characteristics of Pietra Dorata

Geologically it is a clastic sedimentary rock (silica-calcareous-clayey matrix sandstone). It has good compactness and excellent workability. Its calcareous and porous component makes it sensitive to aggressive acids (such as vinegar, lemon, and acidic construction site detergents) and prone to liquid absorption if not properly treated. It requires hydro-oleorepellent protective treatments to prevent staining and efflorescence. It responds beautifully to finishes such as sanding, brushing (velvet effect), sandblasting or split/bocciardato flat work.

Applications in design

– interior and exterior cladding: perfect for vertical accent walls, farmhouse facades, ventilated walls, pillars and low walls that recall Tuscan architectural tradition.

– flooring and terraces: widely used for internal and external floors (in brushed or sandblasted non-slip finish), pool edges and garden walkways.

– furnishing elements and fireplaces: used for the creation of fireplace frames, thresholds, windowsills, covers, portals and support levels.

– wellness and rustic-chic environments: ideal for SPA walls, decorative niches and masonry elements in residential settings and country hôtellerie.
