Technical characteristics of the Pietra Dorata Venata

Geologically it is a clastic sedimentary rock (silica-calcareous-clayey matrix sandstone with marked stratification). It has a granular structure of medium compactness and excellent workability. Due to the presence of calcareous components and its natural porosity, it is sensitive to aggressive food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar and anti-limescale detergents) and is subject to liquid absorption. For use in humid or dirt-prone environments, the application of a suitable hydro-oil-repellent protective treatment is essential. It gives its best with smooth, brushed (silk effect) or sandblasted finishes.

Applications in design

– accent walls and luxury upholstery: ideal for dramatic vertical walls in salons, hotel lobbies, reception areas and commercial spaces where the counter-vena cut provides visual continuity and geometric movement.

– bookmatch compositions: the marked parallel grain allows for the creation of spectacular mirror or “V” motifs, perfect for furnishing wings and backfireplaces.

– interior flooring and walkways: highly appreciated for interior floors and covered terraces (brushed or polished finish) that recall the natural aesthetics of the Tuscan area.

– custom furnishings and architecture: used for the creation of consoles, decorative support levels, portals, thresholds, windowsills and fireplace surrounds in a modern or rustic-chic style.
