Onyx Miele is a natural stone that stands out for its soft and enveloping appearance. Its hues range from straw yellow to caramel, to deeper amber hues that blend into a cloudy or layered texture.
The distinctive feature of this onyx is its velvety translucency: compared to Onyx Gold, which tends to be sharper and more contrasting, Honey offers a more diffuse and homogeneous passage of light. The veins are usually thin and circular, creating patterns reminiscent of tree circles or the light waves of a dense liquid. This stone exudes a sense of comfort and psychophysical well-being, making environments less austere and more intimate. Each plate is a solid solar filter, capable of capturing ambient light and returning it in the form of a golden glow that warms the atmosphere in a natural and refined way.
Onyx Miele is a chemical sedimentary rock formed by calcium carbonate deposits. Like all onyxes, it has a crystalline structure that makes it translucent but also quite fragile and delicate; for this reason, it often requires reinforcement with resin and mesh on the back of the plate. It has good polishing resistance, which gives the surface an almost glassy sheen. However, it is extremely sensitive to acids (fruit juices, perfumes, aggressive cleaning products) and scratches, which is why it requires constant care and the application of specific hydro-oleorepellent protectants for translucent stones.
