Onyx Caramel - yellow onyx of natural origin

Technical characteristics of the Onyx Caramel

Geologically it is a sedimentary rock of chemical origin (calcareous onyx/alabaster) with a microcrystalline carbonate matrix. Its structure gives it excellent natural transparency. However, being a carbonate stone with a low surface hardness, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, and acidic detergents) and is prone to surface scratches. It requires appropriate hydro-oil-repellent protective treatments and careful maintenance, preferring decorative and representational use.
