Dore Reale is a fine natural limestone (limestone) stone quarried in France. Highly prized in high-end interior architecture and the restoration of luxury homes, this stone fully embodies the classic, understated elegance of France’s celebrated blond limestones.
Visually, it has a soft, warm and luminous background that ranges from golden beige to light honey yellow, characterised by very slight chromatic nuances, thin clouds and any very small recrystallised fossil fragments within it. Its particularly fine and homogeneous texture gives the surfaces an extremely sober, welcoming and natural appearance, totally free of invasive veining or strong visual contrasts, ensuring exceptional aesthetic continuity both in environments with a classical style and in spaces with a contemporary design.
Geologically it is a fine-grained calcareous sedimentary rock. Being a calcite matrix stone, it is sensitive to the opacifying action of food acids (lemon, vinegar, wine) and aggressive detergents. Despite its limestone nature, it has excellent compactness for its category, good compressive strength and extraordinary aesthetic performance with smooth, brushed, sandblasted or aged finishes.
