Superwhite - white quartzite of natural origin

Technical characteristics of the Superwhite

Technically, Superwhite is the subject of great interest due to its performance: despite having a marble appearance, it has a hardness close to that of granite (about 6 on the Mohs scale). As a quartz-rich metamorphic rock, it offers significantly higher scratch and wear resistance than traditional marbles. However, by containing a dolomite component, it retains some sensitivity to strong acids, which is why it is often referred to as a “transition stone”. Its dense, low-porous structure allows for flawless glossy finishes, which enhance the brilliance of its minerals, or brushed (“leather”) finishes that accentuate its natural texture, making it incredibly pleasant to the touch and less likely to show imprints or streaks.

Applications in design

Perfect for:

– Kitchen and Island Top: This is the ideal material for those who want the “Carrara” look but need a much sturdier and more durable surface for everyday use.

– impact walls: Its complex and varied texture makes it perfect for covering entire walls in the living room or bedroom as if it were a natural work of art.

– designer bathrooms: create a sophisticated and modern atmosphere, masterfully paired with matte black or brushed brass faucets.

– prestige flooring: thanks to its resistance to trampling, it is suitable for flooring that must combine brightness and practicality in environments with high aesthetic traffic.
