Pinta Verde is a crystalline marble (technically often classified as a dolomite) of extraordinary visual freshness, quarried in Brazil. It is distinguished by its pure white, almost snowy background, on which “float” spots and clouds of a very bright emerald green or aquamarine green.
Unlike European green marbles, which tend to be darker and more veined, this Brazilian material has a dotted or spray pattern (hence the name “Pinta”) that resembles the crystalline reflections of tropical water. This uneven distribution of color gives each slab a vibrant, modern and deeply vital look, ideal for projects that seek to bring the most exotic nature into luxury interiors.
Technically, being a Brazilian dolomite, Pinta Verde boasts slightly higher compactness and hardness than traditional limestone marbles, ranking around 3.5-4 on the Mohs scale. Its microcrystalline structure allows for a mirror polish of exceptional brilliance, which gives the stone a quasi-translucidity. While stronger than other marbles, it remains sensitive to acids, but its low porosity makes it less likely to absorb liquids than other light stones. It is a material that requires careful selection of the plates (“mapping”) to harmonize the white areas with the green “tips” during installation.
