Technical characteristics of Paonazzo

Technically, Paonazzo is a crystalline limestone marble with a hardness of about 3-4 on the Mohs scale. It is characterized by a compact structure but naturally rich in grain and chromatic “flames” which, although points of aesthetic value, require careful processing and often the use of resin coating to consolidate the slab and ensure its structural integrity. The surface achieves an excellent vitreous brilliance that emphasizes the depth of the dark veins against the light background. As a limestone, it is sensitive to food acids and scratches, which is why it requires specific protective treatments and regular maintenance to preserve its original luster and the intensity of its unique colors.
