Panama is a granite of extraordinary elegance quarried in Brazil, a stone that stands out on the international scene for its rigorous and contemporary aesthetic. The material owes its name to the particular granular weave that recalls the dense and regular interweaving of the fibres of the fabric of the same name, offering a visual impact of great composure.
Aesthetically, it has a base shade of anthracite grey or smoky black, uniformly dotted with small white and light grey crystals. This dotted texture creates a homogeneous yet vibrant color effect, capable of reflecting light discreetly without sacrificing the depth typical of dark stones. It is the preferred material for minimalist projects that require a dark but not flat surface, where the precision of the natural design communicates solidity and urban refinement.
Technically, Panama is a granite characterized by extreme compactness and a hardness that reaches a value of 6-7 on the Mohs scale. Due to its igneous origin, it has excellent mechanical properties, including very high resistance to bending, impact and temperature variations. Its almost non-existent porosity makes it naturally waterproof and highly resistant to stains and food acids, ensuring superior performance compared to any limestone.
