Onyx White Persiano is one of the finest and most exclusive natural stones mined in Iran’s historic quarries, a material that embodies the very essence of mineral purity.
Aesthetically, it is distinguished by an ice-white or snow-white background of extraordinary clarity, characterised by a crystalline structure that alternates areas of absolute transparency with denser, opaline clouds. Unlike the creamier classical varieties, Onyx White Persiano tends towards a cooler, brighter hue, often furrowed by very thin amber, gold, or pearl gray veins that appear embedded deep within the slab. It is the preferred material for interior architecture projects that aim for an ethereal and almost celestial luxury, capable of transforming solid matter into a play of light refractions that amplify space and give an aura of noble stillness.
Technically, Onyx White Persiano is a chemically derived calcareous alabaster characterized by a very fine grain and superior translucency, placing it among the brightest materials in the world. It has a hardness of about 3 on the Mohs scale, making it a soft and delicate stone, sensitive to impacts, scratches and the corrosive action of acidic substances such as lemon, vinegar or aggressive detergents. Its internal structure is, however, very compact and allows for a mirror polish of exceptional brilliance, which enhances the visual depth of its crystalline layers.
