New Zebrino is an Apuan marble of extraordinary graphic precision, heir to the great tradition of veined Tuscan marbles. It is distinguished by a milky white or ivory background, criss-crossed by a series of parallel, fine and dense veins, which vary in colour from slate grey to olive green, with shades that can verge on cream or sand.
Unlike brecciated marbles or those with chaotic veining, this material is renowned for its almost geometric linearity. The veins run along the slab with surprising regularity, reminiscent of the texture of a fine fabric or, indeed, a zebra’s coat. This characteristic makes it one of architects’ favourite materials for creating dynamic perspectives and optical effects of great precision.
From a technical perspective, New Zebrino is a crystalline marble with a hardness of approximately 3–4 on the Mohs scale. It has a compact structure and responds magnificently to polishing, which enhances its lustre and the clarity of its veining. It is a stone that requires expert installation, precisely to highlight the continuity of the lines, but which guarantees an aesthetic result of the highest standard and unrivalled luminosity.

– ‘bookmatch’ cladding: the linearity of the veins allows for the creation of mirror-like patterns (V-shaped or diamond-shaped) of extraordinary precision, ideal for feature walls or dramatic backdrops.
