Imperial Danby is considered one of the finest and most iconic marbles in the world, quarried exclusively from the depths of Danby Mountain in Vermont (USA). It is distinguished by a milky white or very light cream background, enhanced by soft, subtle veining that ranges from smoky grey to gold and bronze.
Unlike the more graphic European marbles, Imperial Danby offers a warm, painterly aesthetic, where the veins seem to float lightly across the crystalline surface. Its mineral texture is renowned for its balance of luminosity and warmth, making it the preferred choice for projects requiring a reinterpretation of classical nobility with a contemporary and organic sensibility. From a technical perspective, Imperial Danby is a dolomitic marble of exceptional density, with a hardness of approximately 3.5–4 on the Mohs scale.
