Canadian White is a marble of minimal and crystalline elegance, characterized by an absolute, clear and uniform white background. Unlike Apuan marbles such as Carrara or Calacatta, which have predominant grey or gold veins, this material is distinguished by its chromatic homogeneity: the surface is furrowed only by very rare and very thin pearl grey shading or almost imperceptible filaments.
This “clean” aesthetic gives rooms a radiant luminosity and a sense of monumental breadth. It is the preferred material for contemporary architecture and elite design projects, where the pursuit of formal perfection and material simplicity requires a white that is both solid, deep, and free of excessive graphic distractions.
Technically, Canadian White is a dolomitic marble, giving it a slightly higher hardness than traditional calcitic marbles, standing at around 3.5 – 4.5 on the Mohs scale. Its fine-grained structure and low porosity make it particularly resistant and less prone to liquid absorption, while maintaining the sensitivity typical of natural stones to strong acids. The glossy finish is the one that most enhances its vitreous shine, making it appear almost translucent under light.
