Calacatta Cervaiole is a natural stone of incredible visual impact, characterized by a pure white and crystalline background on which stands out an intertwining of very marked anthracite gray and bluish veins. Unlike other, more nuanced varieties, Cervaiole stands out for the sharpness of its contrasts: the veins are often thin, firm, and form a “nervous” network that almost looks like a silver spiderweb or icy lightning.
This texture creates a continuous graphic movement that gives the plates an almost three-dimensional depth. It is a marble that does not go unnoticed, capable of combining the nobility of Apuan white with a modern and vibrant energy. Each block extracted from the Cervaiole is considered a piece of excellent geological history, ideal for projects that aim to break the static nature of traditional white surfaces through a natural design that is, at the same time, chaotic, harmonious and profoundly luxurious.
From a technical point of view, Calacatta Cervaiole is a high-quality saccharoid marble that has the typical hardness of Apuan materials, ranging between 3 and 4 on the Mohs scale, which is why it requires particular attention to scratches and wear in high-traffic contexts. Although it is a compact, fine-grained stone, it remains a limestone material sensitive to food acids such as lemon or vinegar, requiring proper surface protection. The finishes that best enhance its soul range from classic mirror polishing, which maximizes the brilliance of the white and the depth of the grain, to matte sanding, which gives a silky feel and a more contemporary look, ideal for environments that seek understated elegance and muted reflectance.
