Breccia Capraia is a natural stone of rare beauty, renowned for its dramatic and highly decorative character. Spectacular multicoloured veins stand out against a warm white and ivory background, ranging from dark grey to deep purple, with hints of green and burgundy.
Unlike classic veined marbles, Breccia Capraia has a ‘breccia’ pattern, where fragments of rock seem almost suspended in the light background, creating a visual dynamism reminiscent of an abstract painting. Each slab is unique, a geological narrative that exudes energy and nobility, making it a favourite choice of interior designers for high-profile projects that focus on exclusivity. It is a marble that does not merely cover surfaces but powerfully furnishes the space, giving it a strong, luxurious identity deeply linked to the most noble Italian quarrying tradition.
Breccia Capraia is a fine-grained limestone marble with excellent structural compactness, a feature that allows it to achieve a mirror-like polish with extraordinary brilliance. Due to its brecciated nature, it may occasionally present natural micro-fractures, which are regularly repaired with transparent resins during processing, ensuring a solid and uniform surface. Being a calcareous material, it is sensitive to acids and requires water- and oil-repellent protective treatments to preserve the vivid colour contrast between the light background and its polychrome veins over time.
