Bianco Venato Gioia marble stands out clearly from other Carrara varieties due to its bold and highly decorative character. While common Bianco Carrara tends to have a greyish and cloudy background, Gioia boasts a much more vivid and clean milky white background. Its true aesthetic signature, however, is the movement of its veins: dark grey or anthracite streaks, often dense and intertwined, which run through the slab with an almost electric dynamism.
The name “Gioia” derives from the area where it is quarried (the Gioia basin in Colonnata), known for producing marble blocks with a crystalline purity combined with a very distinctive veined pattern. It is the perfect marble for those who are not looking for uniformity, but want the stone to “speak” and become the absolute protagonist of the space, bringing with it all the strength and millennial history of the Tuscan mountains.
Bianco Venato Gioia is a fine-grained carbonate marble, extremely compact and with excellent compressive strength. The quality of its crystal allows for a high-gloss polish, which enhances the colour contrast between the white background and the deep grey veins. Like all Carrara marbles, it is sensitive to acids and requires water- and oil-repellent protective treatments and cleaning with neutral detergents to preserve the shine of its veins over time.
