Rosso Laguna is a fascinating and enveloping natural red marble mined in Turkey’s rich mining basins (with historical selections also present in the Mediterranean basin). Celebrated in interior architecture for the profound harmony of its veined design and the richness of its warm tones, it represents an ornamental stone of remarkable refinement, capable of giving a touch of classical and contemporary elegance to every space.
Visually, it presents a majestic background matrix in shades of sienna, terracotta, burgundy and rust, densely traversed by a dynamic texture of veins, brecciations and thin branches in shades of antique pink, ivory, cream and pure white.
Geologically it is a metamorphic/sedimentary rock with a predominantly carbonate (calcite) composition. Being a strictly carbonate matrix material, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, juices and anti-limescale detergents) and is subject to immediate clouding or corrosion when exposed to acidic substances. It has excellent compactness and good mechanical strength properties; nevertheless, the presence of natural grain and crystallization planes makes the usual vacuum resin and back screening treatments appropriate during sheet processing.
– prestigious vertical flooring and cladding: an excellent choice for creating interior flooring, skirting, cornices, and wall cladding in private residences, high-end commercial spaces, and hotel lobbies.
– bookmatch compositions: the plastic movement and the continuity of the light veins on the terracotta background enhance the mirrored pose for the creation of scenographic accent walls in salons and reception areas.
– bathroom and vanity top rooms: widely used for refined vanity tops, shower walls and tub linings (after applying suitable stain-resistant protective treatments).
– architectural and interior design elements: perfect for making tops for dining tables, consoles, portals, marble inlays, and classic and contemporary fireplace surrounds.
