Red Tiger is a natural granite of great decorative impact extracted in the mining basins of Brazil. Celebrated in contemporary architecture and interior and exterior design for its high structural stability and distinctive striated texture, it owes its name to the dynamic pattern that recalls the striations and coat of the tiger.
Visually, it presents an intense and vibrant oriented texture: on a background in shades of terracotta red, rust and burgundy, a network of wavy veins and streaks develops in shades of biotite black, quartz grey, antique pink and orange. The alternation of high-contrast color bands gives surfaces a deep sense of movement, vigor, and three-dimensionality.
Geologically it is an intrusive (plutonic) magmatic rock with a predominantly silicate composition. As a silicate material, it is highly resistant to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, oil and household detergents) and does not undergo alterations, opacifications or corrosion in contact with acidic substances. It boasts excellent surface hardness, high resistance to abrasion, scratches, intense trampling and thermal changes, as well as reduced water absorption. It is suitable for use both indoors and in frost and UV resistant outdoor applications. It achieves maximum chromatic brilliance with the mirror-polished finish, but also enhances itself with the polished, flamed and brushed finishes.
– kitchen tops and countertops: thanks to its total unassailability from food acids and extraordinary resistance to scratches and heat, it represents an optimal choice for ultra-high-performance kitchen tops.
– high-traffic and outdoor flooring: ideal for creating interior and exterior floors subject to heavy traffic (squares, shopping centers, walkways) and for ventilated facade cladding.
– bathroom and vanity top rooms: widely used for vanity tops, shower trays and wall coverings subject to frequent use of detergents and humidity.
– stairways, thresholds, and furnishings: a top-notch choice for steps, windowsills, dining table tops, reception desks, and modern fireplace surrounds.
