Red Marinace is one of the most extraordinary and eccentric natural granites in the world, mined in Brazil’s renowned plutonic basins. Celebrated in high-end interior architecture and contemporary design for its unmistakable conglomerate structure, it is renowned for its unique appearance that evokes an ancient riverbed petrified over time.
Visually, it features an incredible “pebble” texture: a background matrix in shades of brick red, terracotta, and burgundy incorporates a myriad of natural pebbles of various sizes and shapes, with shades ranging from obsidian black, quartz gray, and olive green to dusty pink, cream, and white. This chromatic contrast between the red matrix and the polychrome pebbles gives the surfaces a three-dimensionality and a visual dynamism that are completely inimitable.
Geologically it is a conglomeratic-type magmatic/metamorphic rock with a silicate matrix. As a silicate material, it is highly resistant to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, oil and household detergents) and does not undergo corrosion or opacification when in contact with acidic substances. It boasts a very high surface hardness, excellent resistance to abrasion, scratches, intense trampling and thermal shock, as well as reduced liquid absorption. It is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors. It expresses the greatest aesthetic value with the mirror-polished finish, which highlights the shine of individual quartz pebbles, but is also very attractive with the brushed or polished finish.
