Ocean Red is a scenic natural granite of Iranian origin, mined in Iran’s renowned mining basins. Highly appreciated in contemporary architecture and international interior design, it owes its evocative name to the fluid and chromatically deep pattern of its surfaces, which evokes the wave-like and dynamic course of ocean currents.
Visually, it features a rich and dense background in shades of ruby red, terracotta, burgundy and brick red, densely furrowed and punctuated by mineral waves, veining and tapping in shades of pitch black, anthracite grey, dark brown and translucent quartz. The harmonious contrast between the dominant red matrix and the dark intrusions gives the stone a high decorative value and a marked three-dimensionality.
Geologically it is a siliceous intrusive magmatic rock (veined siliceous granite). Compositionally very rich in quartz and feldspars, it is a completely acid-fast material and does NOT react with food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, or acidic deep cleaning cleaners). It guarantees physical-mechanical performance at the top of the category: extraordinary resistance to trampling abrasion, impact, scratches, direct heat and frost. It has almost no water absorption (0.31%) and impeccable chromatic-UV stability even when exposed to atmospheric agents.
