Imperial Red is one of the most famous, prestigious and recognized red granites in the world, mined mainly in the renowned mining basins of the state of Rajasthan, India. Appreciated in monumental architecture and high-profile interior design, it represents the perfect combination of chromatic grandeur and extreme structural resistance.
Visually, it is distinguished by a bright, dense ruby red and bright red hue, finely and densely dotted with an inlay of translucent quartz microcrystals, potassium feldspar, and black and dark gray biotite/hornblende dots. This medium-fine grain size gives the surface an incredibly homogeneous, vitreous and vibrant appearance.
Geologically it is a siliceous intrusive magmatic rock (silica granite). Compositionally very rich in quartz and feldspars, it is a totally acid-fast material and does NOT react with food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine or acidic deep cleaning detergents). It guarantees physical-mechanical performance at the top of the category: extraordinary resistance to trampling abrasion, impact, scratches, heat and intense frosts. It has almost no porosity and impeccable color stability when exposed to UV rays and weathering. It stands out excellently with mirror polishing, but offers excellent performance and grip with flaming, bushbrushing, brushing and sandblasting.
