Cipollino Rosso is a precious natural veoned marble of historic Italian origins, traditionally extracted in the Apuan Alps basin (Tuscany) and in some areas of the Ligurian Apennines. Celebrated since the Baroque period in Italian sacred and ecclesiastical architecture, it is an ornamental stone with a strong scenographic impact.
Visually, it is distinguished by its characteristic nuanced and fluid-laminar structure: on a dense background in shades of scorched earth red, burgundy, brick and antique pink, dense wavy veins and marly bands in shades of cream, ivory, very light grey and greenish hues unfold. This design recreates the typical “onion leaf” pattern, giving the surface great movement and three-dimensionality.
Geologically it is a metamorphic rock with a carbonate matrix with phyllosilicate intercalations (Apuan calcitic marble). As a carbonate material, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine and anti-limescale detergents) and is subject to opacification when exposed to corrosive substances. The presence of typical silicate-marly veins requires the application of traditional resining and consolidation processes during the processing of the slabs.

– premium interior flooring and siding: used to create ornamental flooring, inlays, central marble carpets, and vertical siding in historic homes and luxury residences.
– bathroom and vanity top rooms: used for furnishing vanity tops, accent shower liners and niches (subject to suitable stain-resistant sealing).
– fireplace and cabinetmaking frames: a traditional choice for sculpting period fireplaces, columns, pilasters, furnishing tables, and consoles.
