Technical characteristics of the Breche Rouge de France

Geologically, it is a recrystallized sedimentary clastic carbonate rock (limestone-matrix brecciated marble). As a carbonate matrix material, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine and anti-limescale detergents) and is subject to clouding or surface corrosion in contact with acid-corrosive substances. Its heterogeneous texture presents variations in hardness between the clasts and the bottom, making traditional resin and micro-consolidation processes essential during the processing of the slabs to ensure their structural stability. To preserve the chromatic-surface brilliance over time in indoor environments, it requires an appropriate hydro-oil-repellent protective treatment.

– bathroom and vanity top rooms: used for high-impact vertical decorative cladding, niches and vanity tops (subject to suitable stain-resistant sealing).
