Technical characteristics of the Arabescato Orobico Rosso

Geologically it is a metamorphic limestone/re-crystallized carbonate rock (Main Dolomite formation). As a predominantly carbonate matrix material, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine and anti-limescale detergents) and is subject to opacification or staining in contact with corrosive substances. It offers good structural compactness and reduced porosity compared to other sedimentary limestones. To preserve the surface’s shine and protect it from liquid absorption, it requires a high-quality hydro-oleorepellent treatment. It retains a spectacular shine when polished to a mirror, but also lends itself very well to brushed (silk effect) or sanded finish.
