Alba Chiara is a scenic and distinctive natural marble of Turkish origin, quarried in Turkey’s renowned mining basins. Celebrated in international interior design and contemporary architecture for its stark color contrast, it owes its poetic name to the warm, luminous tones that evoke the nuances of a serene dawn.
Visually, it features a brecciated and highly dynamic pattern: against a vivid background in tones of apple green, sage green and olive green, a dense network of veins and calcitic fragments in tones of coral pink, terracotta, pure white and orange unfolds. This marked contrast between the green matrix and the pinkish lattice gives the surface an exceptional expressive force and a great decorative personality.
Geologically it is a metamorphic rock with a carbonate matrix (brecciated calcitic marble). As a predominantly carbonate material, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, and anti-limescale detergents) and is subject to immediate clouding or corrosion when exposed to acidic substances. It has a brecciated texture with natural micro-cracks that are regularly consolidated by resining and back screening during sheet processing. For use in indoor environments in contact with liquids or greases, it requires a suitable hydro-oil-repellent protective treatment. Expresses the highest aesthetic value with the mirror polished finish and sanding.
