Versalys is one of the great icons of contemporary stone design. It is a premium marble, quarried from the renowned quarries of the Garfagnana region in the Apuan Alps of Tuscany (the very cradle of the famous Carrara marble).
Visually, it is a masterpiece of balance and dynamism. Against a pure, crystalline and incredibly luminous white background, a dense and sophisticated web of multicoloured veins unfolds, fading from ash grey to delicate gold, and even touching on hints of grey-blue. This pattern, fluid and never geometrically rigid, lends the slabs an extraordinary three-dimensional quality and a graceful movement, reminiscent of the slow flow of water or the unravelling of threads of precious silk.
From a geological point of view, Versalys is a metamorphic limestone marble of the highest quality. It boasts excellent structural compactness and an extremely fine crystalline grain that responds superbly to mirror polishing, a finish that maximises light refraction and the brilliance of its white background. To enhance its velvety texture, it is also often offered in a Hydro or satin finish. As a fine marble, it is ideal for high-end interior applications and benefits from modern protective treatments to ensure complete resistance to stains and corrosion from acidic agents.
Perfect for:
– Bookmatch accent walls: the fluidity of its veining makes it perfect for book-matched installation in living areas, private spas or spectacular entrance halls.
– monoliths and kitchen islands: used to clad imposing kitchen units and worktops where minimalist design meets the elegance of natural stone.
– Striking bathrooms: used for full-height cladding, shower trays and integrated washbasins with an exquisitely contemporary feel.
– designer tables and furniture: chosen for monumental dining table tops or console tables, where each slab serves as a unique decorative element.
