Suprem (or Suprem Salome) is a Turkish marble of extraordinary visual impact, quarried from Turkey’s rich marble deposits. It is a natural stone with a bold and highly artistic character, which stands out clearly from traditional marbles to offer a complex, dynamic and almost ‘flaming’ aesthetic.
Visually, it is characterised by a deep, dark background colour, ranging from anthracite grey and dove grey to shades of burgundy or plum. The true aesthetic hallmark of this material, however, is the dense and chaotic network of veins that run through it: lines and mineral inclusions in shades of deep pink, salmon, ivory white and gold intertwine across the surface, creating a unique colour contrast that transforms every slab into an abstract work of art.
From a geological point of view, Suprem is a crystalline limestone marble characterised by excellent compactness and a dense structure. It possesses good mechanical properties and responds exceptionally well to mirror polishing, a process that brings out the richness of its burgundy tones to the full and enhances the vibrancy of its pink veining. Like most coloured, heavily veined marbles, it is ideally suited to interior settings; to preserve its lustre and prevent staining, it requires the application of specific water- and oil-repellent protective treatments.
Perfect for:
– accent walls (Macchia Aperta): used in large, mirror-like slabs laid ‘book-style’ to create monumental focal walls in living areas, hotel lobbies or executive offices.
– designer tables and counters: highly prized for creating spectacular dining table tops or bar counters designed to be the centre of attention in any space.
– luxury bathroom furnishings: chosen for monolithic washbasin tops and exclusive shower cladding, where its warm, rosy tones create an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere.
