Technical characteristics of Bedonia Stone

From a geological perspective, Bedonia Stone is a sedimentary rock (a type of sandstone) that boasts excellent physical and mechanical properties. It is characterised by high density and remarkable resistance to abrasion, foot traffic and, above all, weathering and frost, qualities that make it virtually impervious to change over time. Its structure lends itself to a variety of surface treatments: polishing or a ‘leather’ finish soften its tones, making it velvety to the touch, whilst traditional treatments such as flammé, bush-hammered or natural split finishes enhance its roughness, increasing its anti-slip properties.
