The Bardiglio Imperiale is one of the noblest and most sought-after varieties of the Bardigli family, extracted from the excellent quarries of Tuscany, in the Apuan Alps. It is distinguished by a deep and extraordinarily compact dark grey background, which differs from other types for its superior chromatic uniformity.
The surface is crossed by a network of thin, sinuous veins, anthracite grey or smoky in colour, which create an extremely sophisticated and harmonious cloud effect. The name itself suggests its monumental vocation: it is a stone that exudes an aura of authority and composure, perfect for environments that require a sober but impactful luxury. Thanks to its neutral hue and less “chaotic” texture than other gray marbles, the Imperial Bardiglio is a favorite material for modern interior architecture, capable of giving impeccable visual solidity and refined modernity to every project.
Technically, the Imperial Bardiglio is a very fine-grained limestone marble with a hardness of about 3-4 on the Mohs scale. Its structure is dense and homogeneous, free of large crystalline intrusions, which ensures superior workability and the possibility of obtaining a vitreous polish of exceptional brilliance. Although it is resistant to compression and ideal for internal trampling, its carbonate nature makes it sensitive to acids, requiring the application of specific protective sealants to preserve the depth of its dark tones and the clarity of the surface over time.
