Bardiglio Fumo di Londra is an intense and deeply evocative chromatic variety of Bardiglio marble, quarried in the prestigious Apuan Alps basin. As the name suggests, this stone is distinguished by an extremely saturated and dense dark grey background shade, which recalls the color of coal and the most elegant metropolitan atmospheres.
The surface is characterized by a homogeneous but vibrant cloud, furrowed by a very fine lattice of anthracite grey veins and sporadic white hints that give three-dimensional depth to the slab. Compared to the lighter versions, London Smoke exudes a masculine and architectural charm, ideal for those looking for a material that can communicate solidity and contemporary luxury. His ability to absorb and reflect light softly makes him an absolute protagonist of interior design, capable of defining space with rigorous and timeless refinement.
Technically speaking, Bardiglio Fumo di Londra is a very fine-grained limestone marble with a hardness of about 3-4 on the Mohs scale. Its structure is exceptionally compact, which allows for a “mirror” polish of extraordinary brilliance that enhances its chromatic depth. While offering remarkable compressive strength, its mineral composition requires particular attention to acidic substances; it is therefore essential to provide hydro-oil-repellent protective treatments to ensure its aesthetic longevity and stain resistance in everyday use.
Perfect for:
– monolithic flooring: ideal for creating dark, uniform marble carpets that lend character and importance to salons and state entrances.
– designer bathroom upholstery: perfect for creating showers and walls with a dramatic impact, where deep grey enhances black or gold taps.
– vanity tops and integrated sinks: the dark color is excellent for bathroom decor elements that combine aesthetic practicality and material luxury.
– chimney linings: transforms the hearth into a sculptural element.
