Technical characteristics of Sapphire Blue

Geologically, it is an intrusive igneous rock belonging to the granite/charnockite family. The high concentration of quartz and feldspars within the crystalline matrix gives it superior physical-mechanical characteristics.

It offers a very high surface hardness, ensuring extraordinary resistance to scratches, nicks and intended walking wear. Its internal porosity is extremely low (with almost no water absorption rate), providing natural and excellent protection against the penetration of liquids, oils and stains. Being a stone of entirely silicate composition, it enjoys total chemical inertness: it is not affected, stained or opaque by acidic substances (such as lemon, vinegar, wine or household detergents).

Applications in design

– kitchen tops and countertops: highly sought after for the creation of island tops and kitchen tops, where it combines the sophisticated aesthetics of sapphire-blue reflections with absolute operational indestructibility (resistance to direct heat, scratches and acidic substances).

– ventilated facades and external enclosures: excellent for vertical external cladding in both harsh and very hot climates, thanks to its absolute chromatic-structural stability against atmospheric agents.
