Purple Dune – natural brown granite

Technical characteristics of Purple Dune

Geologically, it is an intrusive igneous rock with a very dense and compact crystalline structure, rich in quartz and feldspars. From a mechanical point of view, it boasts excellent physical properties: it offers exceptional resistance to surface scratches, heavy abrasion from foot traffic and accidental impacts.

Its internal porosity is extremely low, resulting in excellent natural impermeability that prevents the absorption of water, oils and fats, thereby minimising the risk of staining. As it is a predominantly silicate-based material, it is completely chemically inert, protecting it from attack by common acidic foodstuffs (such as vinegar, citrus fruits or fizzy drinks), and preventing loss of lustre or corrosion. Furthermore, it withstands temperature fluctuations, frost and direct exposure to UV rays impeccably, maintaining the intensity of its warm and cool colours completely unchanged in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Design applications

– monolithic kitchen worktops and islands: it is a strikingly impressive choice for modern worktops, where the ‘dynamic’ dune-like pattern captures the eye and beautifully conceals everyday wear and tear, fingerprints and dust.

– accent walls and vertical cladding: it looks particularly striking when installed in large, single slabs or laid in a ‘folded’ (mirrored) pattern to clad the walls of luxury living rooms and fireplaces or behind counters in high-end commercial spaces.

– designer bathrooms: ideal for transforming the bathroom into an oasis of well-being, using it to clad entire shower enclosures, washbasin tops or accent walls that highlight the contrast between gold and purple.
