Amazon Blue is a prestigious and monumental brown granite quarried from Brazil’s rich stone-bearing regions. Although the term ‘Blue’ in its name is often misleading, the true essence of this stone lies in its imposing and deep earthy matrix, making it, to all intents and purposes, an exotic dark-based granite.
Visually, it is distinguished by a rich, dense background that fades from chocolate brown to chestnut, verging on shades of beige and smoky grey. The extraordinary feature that makes this Brazilian granite unique is the presence of spectacular intrusions and veins of amazonite, an extremely rare mineral that enlivens the solid brown base with sudden crystalline flashes of turquoise and sky blue. The visual result is a primal and magnetic contrast, where the warm, earthy tones seem to hold fragments of precious stone within them.
As a genuine Brazilian granite, Amazon Blue boasts an extremely compact crystalline structure and formidable hardness. It is a virtually indestructible material: it withstands scratches, impacts, high heat and stains with ease. As it is not calcareous, it is completely resistant to acids (such as lemon, vinegar or cleaning products). The mirror-polished finish is the one that best showcases its natural beauty, as it makes the deep brown background as glossy as glass, allowing the blue crystals to stand out as if they were precious stones set into the stone.
