Azul Imperial - natural blue quartzite

Technical characteristics of the Azul Imperial

Geologically it is a metamorphic rock (quartzite) with a predominantly silicate composition (pure quartz and accessory silicates). As a strictly silicate matrix material with no carbonate components, it does not react to food or household acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, juices or common detergents) and is not subject to acid attack opacification. It has a very high hardness (Mohs scale 7), exceptional resistance to abrasion, scratches and thermal shock, together with an extremely low liquid absorption rate. To best preserve the surface from oils or pigment stains, a regular protective water-oil-repellent seal is recommended.

Applications in design

– luxury kitchen tops and countertops: an excellent choice for kitchen tops, scenic islands, and bar counters thanks to their total immunity to food acids, nicks, and direct heat.

– bookmatch compositions: the fluidity and elegance of the veined lattice lend itself magnificently to mirrored posing for the creation of striking accent walls in salons and lobbies.

– signature bathroom and vanity rooms: widely used for refined vanity tops, shower trays, and wall or bathtub coverings, combining a marine and exclusive aesthetic with maximum ease of cleaning.

– prestigious vertical flooring and cladding: ideal for interior flooring, state lobbies, ventilated facades, and wall cladding in high-profile residential and commercial settings.
