Technical characteristics of the Statuario Vena Grande

Statuario Vena Grande  shares the structural excellence of the finest Apuan marbles, with a hardness of about 3-4 on the Mohs scale. Its very fine saccharoid grain and its particular translucency allow light to penetrate slightly into the surface before being reflected, giving the stone an almost ethereal aura. Being characterized by wider and more continuous veins, it requires particular mastery in the cutting and selection phase, since the continuity of the design is fundamental to the aesthetic success of the project. It is a compact material but, like all pure marbles, it requires care and protection against acidic agents to preserve its vitreous luster and the immaculate white of the background over the decades.
