Teak Wood (also known on the market as Teak Sandstone, Granite Teak or Sandstone Teakwood) is a renowned natural stone (sandstone/silicate) mined mainly in the rich mining basins of India (in the state of Rajasthan). It is widely celebrated in contemporary architecture and landscape design for its stunning graphic pattern, which almost perfectly mimics the grain, knots, and nuances of Teak wood.
Visually, it has a sunny, warm background in shades of straw yellow, cream and honey, crossed by marked parallel or concentric streaks and veins in shades of brown, ochre, hazelnut and wood. The fluid flow and highly material appearance give the surfaces an organic, warm and distinctive aesthetic.
Geologically it is a predominantly silicate matrix sandstone (quartzite/quartz sandstone). Although not a granite in the strict sense, it shares with silicate rocks the excellent inertness to food acids (such as lemon, vinegar and wine), clearly differentiating itself from carbonate marbles. It has a fair natural porosity and a slightly rough or brushed surface, which offers excellent adhesion. It requires hydro-oil-repellent treatments when applied in high-stain risk settings, but guarantees excellent resistance to temperature changes, frost and UV rays.

– interior cladding and accent walls: highly appreciated for vertical cladding in salons, lobbies and wellness areas where the visual effect of wood combined with the durability of stone is sought.
– bathroom and SPA rooms: used for shower trays, niche coverings and scenic walls (with appropriate waterproofing treatment).
– custom elements: used for the creation of external staircases, covers, thresholds, sills and planters.
