Onyx Iris Pink is a refined and exotic natural limestone onyx mined mainly in the prestigious basins of Iran (and some deposits in Pakistan). Famous in high-end interior design for its delicate color tones and high light-transmitting ability, it represents a choice of choice for projects with a sophisticated and exclusive character.
Visually, it is characterized by a nuanced, nuanced background in shades of dusty pink, salmon pink, coral, and light ruby red, enriched by thin, concentrically overlapping layers and veining in shades of pure white, ivory, honey, and translucent. This delicate contrast between the warm pink-red tones and the light veining gives the plates a distinct luminosity and ethereal elegance.
Geologically it is a sedimentary rock of chemical origin (calcareous onyx/calcareous alabaster with a matrix of aragonite and calcite). As a fully carbonate material, it is highly sensitive to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, and anti-limescale cleaners) and is subject to rapid corrosion or clouding when exposed to acidic substances. It has a reduced surface hardness and a certain structural fragility, so the slabs are regularly reinforced with resin and back screening. Its fundamental characteristic is its excellent translucency, which allows the passage of light by filtering it with warm, enveloping tones. Shines beautifully with mirror polished finish and fine sanding.
