Technical characteristics of the Tropic Brown

Geologically, it is an intrusive igneous rock with high compactness, formed by a predominantly silicate matrix of quartz and potassium feldspars.

It boasts a very high surface hardness, which allows it to perfectly resist scratches, abrasions from continuous trampling and accidental impacts. Its internal porosity is extremely limited, ensuring almost zero water absorption value and natural protection against the penetration of liquids, oils and stains. Being composed of silicate minerals, it enjoys total chemical inertia: it does not fear the corrosive or opacifying action of acidic substances (such as lemon, vinegar, wine or aggressive detergents). It is also completely unalterable in the face of frost, thermal shock and prolonged exposure to UV rays, maintaining its chromatic saturation both inside and out.

Applications in design

– kitchen and island tops: highly appreciated for countertops thanks to their absolute ease of use (total resistance to acids, scratches and direct heat) and ease of maintenance.

– high-traffic flooring: its exceptional homogeneity of design and high mechanical strength make it ideal for covering large interior and exterior meters in shopping centers, stations, airports and hotel lobbies.

– exterior cladding and ventilated facades: frequently used in public and commercial architecture for the building envelope, thanks to its indestructibility and stability in the face of the most extreme atmospheric agents.

– stairs and street furniture: used for steps, windowsills, curbs and exterior finishes (in polished, polished, flamed or brushed finishes).
