Nordic Sunset is one of the most fascinating and characteristic veined granites of Russian origin, mined in the vast mining basins of the Karelia region (Russia). Recognized in contemporary architecture and international interior design for its strong visual impact, it owes its commercial name to the extraordinary color palette that recalls the warm, enveloping shades of sunsets in the Nordic regions.
Visually, it features a dynamic, fluid, and strongly nuanced pattern: against a dense background in shades of copper red, terracotta, burgundy, and burnt orange, wide-ranging veins, mineral waves, and nodules in shades of quartz gray, anthracite, pitch black, and cream unfold. This chromatically warm and contrasted alternation gives each plate a great three-dimensionality and a unique appearance.
Geologically it is a siliceous intrusive/migmatitic magmatic rock (veined siliceous granite). Compositionally very rich in quartz and feldspars, it is a completely acid-fast material and does NOT react with food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, or acidic deep cleaning cleaners). It guarantees exceptional physical-mechanical performance: very high resistance to trampling abrasion, impact, scratches, direct heat and extreme frosts. It has almost no water absorption rate and impeccable chromatic-UV stability over time.
– countertops and countertops: thanks to its total unassailability from food acids, resistance to high temperatures and scratches, it is an excellent choice for islands, bar counters and kitchen tops.
– accent walls and bookmatch compositions: the pronounced fluid grain makes it a stone of choice for mirrored installations on the scenic walls of salons, hotel lobbies and reception areas.
– high-traffic floors and exteriors: perfect for interior and exterior floors subject to heavy traffic, as well as for ventilated facade cladding thanks to its complete frostiness.
– bathroom and vanity top rooms: used for vanity vanity tops, accent shower wall coverings, and easy-to-clean and maintain niches.
