Rosso Fiorentino – red granite of natural origin

Rosso Fiorentino is a compact and exotic natural granite quarried in Brazil’s rich plutonic basins. Celebrated in contemporary architecture and interior design for its exceptional structural durability and the richness of its warm hues, it represents a material of extremely high technical reliability and notable decorative value.

Visually, it has a dense and varied granular texture: on a uniform matrix in tones of ruby, terracotta, burgundy and rust, a rich punctuation and flaming of quartz crystals and feldspars in tones of antique pink, ivory white, quartz grey and smoky black unfolds. The combination of mineral granules gives the surface a deep, solid and aesthetically very dynamic appearance.

Technical characteristics of Rosso Fiorentino

Geologically it is an intrusive (plutonic) magmatic rock with a predominantly silicate composition (quartz, feldspars and micas). As a silicate material, it is highly resistant to food and chemical acids (such as lemon, vinegar, wine, oil and household detergents) and does not undergo alterations, opacifications or corrosion in contact with acidic substances. It boasts high surface hardness (Mohs scale 6–7), excellent resistance to abrasion, scratches, intense trampling and freeze-thaw cycles, combined with very low water absorption. It is perfectly suitable for intense use both indoors and outdoors. It stands out to its maximum potential with the mirror-polished finish, but is also expressed with great effectiveness in flamed, brushed, bush-hammered and sanded processes.

Applications in design

– kitchen countertops and countertops: thanks to its total unassailability from food acids and remarkable resistance to scratches and heat, it represents an excellent choice for operational countertops and functional islands.

– high-traffic and outdoor flooring: ideal for indoor and outdoor flooring subject to high mechanical stress (commercial areas, lobbies, plazas, sidewalks) and ventilated facade cladding.

– bathroom and vanity top rooms: widely used for vanity tops, shower trays and wall coverings subject to the continuous use of water and cleaning products.

– stairways, thresholds, and urban architecture: A first-class choice for modern steps, windowsills, covers, street furniture, and fireplace surrounds.
