Amarello Negrais (also marketed as Amarillo Negrais, Giallo Negrais or Amarelo de Negrais) is in fact a renowned natural limestone extracted in the historic mining basins of southern Spain (mainly in the regions of Andalusia), although it is widespread and appreciated throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
Visually, it presents a sunny, warm and distinctly organic aesthetic. The background varies from creamy yellow to golden yellow, to ochre, straw and light brown hues, enriched by delicate clouds, beige shades and characteristic finely distributed fossil details. Its fine texture and golden hue give it a sober and refined appearance, capable of giving brightness and warmth to the rooms in which it is placed.
Geologically, it is a calcareous sedimentary rock formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate from thermal waters. It has a natural vacuolar porosity that requires grouting and protective treatments to prevent fluid absorption. Having a carbonate matrix, it is not chemically inert and is sensitive to the opacifying action of acidic substances. Nonetheless, it offers remarkable compactness and excellent mechanical and frost resistance, ensuring extraordinary durability over time both indoors and outdoors.
– internal and external flooring: highly appreciated for continuous floors, terraces and walkways (in brushed, polished or bush-hammered finish), thanks to its golden hue that recalls Mediterranean architecture.
– facade cladding: used for cladding vertical walls and ventilated facades, where it ensures excellent visual impact and excellent weatherproofing.
– bathroom and wellness rooms: chosen for shower walls, vanity tops and vertical upholstery by virtue of its warm and relaxing aesthetic.
– architectural and custom elements: suitable for the creation of cornices, thresholds, windowsills, stairways and decorative elements of value for residential and public buildings.
